Just waterproofed my basement

Basement waterproofing can save you tons of money and tons of headache from damages to valuable items. The basic idea of waterproofing is to stop water from bursting into your basement. Sounds important already doesn’t it?

The thing is, you absolutely need to waterproof any kind of building or structure that is not above ground. If it is at ground level or even below ground level, you are going to need to waterproof it. I had an awful experience last year where we actually had forgotten to waterproof our basement, leaving it to years of neglect and the old “it-can’t-happen-to-me” attitude. Well, guess what? It happened to me! One of the biggest flash floods to ever hit our neighborhood was in full force and we were caught without any solution.

We suffered thousands of dollars in damage, and even forgetting the financial costs for a second, what about the sentimental costs associated with losing all your precious goods? How do you replace an old photograph of your beloved grandmother or that first baseball mitt that you kept in the basement, but is now damaged and can never be repaired? You just can’t buy that kind of stuff again.

It’s awful.
